Moulded fibre
The moulded fibre is a modern packaging material with both tradition and futurity, whereas its very low impact on environmental load, excellent cushioning properties, individual design, and 100 % ability to be recycled, making products of the moulded fibre ideal package with nearly unlimited industrial applications. Packages made of formed paper fibre are manufactured yet for more than 100 years. First references to the pressed fibre date back to 1903 when Martin Keyes of Maine, USA, commenced manufacture of formed boards for pastry. Due to the excellent ability of the formed fibre to absorb shock, in 1931, the idea emerged to put fresh eggs and transport them in special packages of moulded fibre. Since the 90s of the 20th century its application as an industrial and design package has been commenced.
